BSC has helped build the most innovative corporate bank in Central and Eastern Europe

September 2020

The Czech leader in banking software development, the Banking Software Company (BSC), is celebrating another international success. The Georgian TBC Bank, which conquered the Georgian market using state-of-the-art technology BSC helped build, has been awarded the title of the most innovative corporate bank in Central and Eastern Europe by the prestigious Global Finance magazine.

In the broad international competition, TBC Bank won the title of the most innovative bank in the entire region, demonstrating not only its extraordinary technological sophistication, but also its emphasis on understanding customer needs. The winners of the individual categories were selected by a jury composed of renowned analysts from Infosys and editors of the well-known professional magazine Global Finance, whose competition has a tradition of more than 20 years.

“We have been working with TBC Bank for a very long time and we are of course pleased with its repeated global successes. Such awards are proof that our joint efforts are bearing fruit and that banks in the undervalued region of Eastern Europe can be an inspiration to the world in terms of innovation. TBC clearly shows that the well-managed digitization of banks combined with an empathic approach to customer needs leads to success”, comments Petr Koutný, CEO of Banking Software Company, on the award for TBC Bank.

BSC continues to develop and enhance its own digital operating system for banks and financial institutions all over the world. This operating system provides all the necessary functionality for digital client services while enabling access to client approved services provided by independent entities. This allows the bank to integrate both its own components as well as third-party applications in order to satisfy any customer need.

“This success is proof that even though each banking market is different, by using the digital components that are part of our Digital Bank OS, we can achieve great results in very different markets,” explains Petr Koutný from BSC.

The winners of each category are selected based on an assessment of a number of parameters related to the quality of digital services. These include the success of the bank’s strategy for attracting customers to its digital services, the growth of the digital customer base, the variety of digital products, the benefits of the bank’s digital initiatives and, last but not least, the design and functionality of the bank’s web and mobile websites.

“This year’s global pandemic has significantly accelerated the shift to the digitisation of banking, but visionary banks have taken this path earlier,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, Publisher and President of Global Finance magazine. “The Digital Bank Awards target those financial institutions that are at the front of the pack and are driving change towards a new form of global banking.”
