BSC is a software company that builds turnkey banking systems. We talked with BSC’s boss, Petr Koutný, about how classic industries, such as banking, have managed the transition to new digital processes. “From the client's point of view, digitization is going great, we can pay with watches, telephones, we have great mobile and internet banking, we’ve got it all. But everything is just a little too complicated. The client ends up using only a fraction of what the app is capable of, and it’s not always user-friendly. Banks have to simplify”, he says in an exclusive interview for Peak.cz.

The trend in recent years in communication between the bank and the client, has been the gradual decline in the number of branches and the decreasing need and willingness of customers to communicate directly with a banker. As a result, the number of branches has fallen by around ten percent in the last five years while the number of customers calling the bank directly to consult with a banker has also fallen. On the other hand, chat usage is on the rise.

BSC has further solidified its position as the clear number one on the market, with a portfolio of almost 70 clients.
BSC (Banking Software Company), a developer of proprietary software products for the banking sector with nearly thirty years of experience, won three new customers for its BI regulatory reporting product in the first half of 2019. BSC services for automated sending of obligatory reports to CNB and other regulatory authorities will newly be used by Českomoravská záruční a rozvojová banka, J&T Finance Group SE and HSBC France — branch office Prague. BSC thus secured its leading position on the market and rounded the number of its clients to sixty.
BSC, the largest banking software house in the Czech Republic, hires the experienced professional Karel Beran (45), who will become Director of Products and Digital Innovations and will thus be responsible for BSC’s innovation activities. During his twenty-five year career he has worked at Arthur Andersen, Accenture or Komerční banka. It was at BSC that Beran launched his professional career years ago and now he is returning.
